The Opportunity A new PhD scholarship is being offered by the Monash University Korean Studies program supported by the AKS Core Universities Project ‘Monash Korean Studies Beyond Borders: Creating a Global Hub for a New and Diverse Korean Studies.' The successful candidate will join the Korean Studies Programme and the Monash University Korean Studies Research Hub which was established in 2018 to produce groundbreaking research in Korean Studies. University of Tübingen, PhD position in Korean Studies
3-year Ph.D. position (E13 TV-L 13, 65%, f/m/div). (The salary is about 33,000 to 37,400 euros/ per year, depending on work experiences.) The Korean Department of the University of Tübingen seeks to fill a Ph.D. position that will start on April 14, 2025. The successful candidate will start a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Junior Professor Yewon Lee. Dr. Lee is looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in a field that qualifies for research and teaching in Korean studies. (Those who are trained in sociology, anthropology, geography, and political science are encouraged to apply.) Proficiency in qualitative methods in social science research—e.g., ethnographic, in-depth interview, and historical analysis—and experience in empirical research on Korea is required. Specific research interest in either urban, labor, social movement, and/ or gender is preferred, but not necessary. The candidate must be fluent both in English and Korean at an academic level. 해외대학 장학금 안내미국 버지니아대학교 박사 후 과정 포닥 The Department of East Asian Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in the field of late imperial (Ming-Qing) Chinese literature.The successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester. Our gateway course EAST 1010 (“East Asian Canons and Cultures”) is taught both in the fall and spring semesters. EAST 1010 is required for all majors and minors in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and East Asian studies and introduces the cultural foundations of East Asian civilizations. The candidate will also teach one introductory course on Modern/Contemporary Chinese literature in English translation (CHTR 3020), either in the fall or spring semester (period is flexible but must include the 20th century; film may be included), and one other course based on their research expertise and interests.The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active research portfolio, giving at least one lecture in the department or the East Asia Center, and participating in any relevant conferences or workshops taking place at UVA during the academic year.
