The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE, seeks a dynamic and innovative instructor to teach one or two in-person Korean language courses at any level in Fall 2026. This is an adjunct position, renewable on a semester basis. 

Qualifications and Responsibilities  

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Korean Language, Literature, Linguistics, or Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, or in a related field, and should have native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English. Experience teaching college-level Korean in the US is highly desired. 

The core responsibilities of this position include teaching Korean-language classes as needed by the Department and contributing to the development of the Korean Program. Candidates should be: 

• committed to high-quality instruction in a collaborative, communicative-based learning environment;  
• able to work with students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse learning styles;
• willing to collaborate with colleagues to advance student outcomes; and  
• experienced with using technology to foster student learning.  

The instructor is also expected to hold one hour of student office hours per course per week.

Instructional Faculty – Part-time Temporary/Lecturer Pool

Position Details The Modern Languages and Literatures Department in the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-2027 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.

Part-time faculty lecturers are hired with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Often appointments are made just prior to the start of the semester so some faculty lecturers may need to be available on very short notice. Minimum Qualifications An earned master’s degree in Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, or Spanish or in a closely related field, from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required.

SOSi is seeking a Korean Instructor in Northern Virginia. In this role you will provide language instruction in a professional environment with responsibility for lesson planning, delivery, and assessment of learning. Strong inter-personal and communications skills are a must to supportively engage with adult students.

Essential Job Duties

• Deliver instruction to students ranging on a starting level from 0 to 3 to raise their proficiency level on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR).
• Execute the full cycle of lesson development/planning, instruction, and student assessment.
• Develop lesson plans for appropriate for beginners, intermediate, and advanced classes.

Qualifications

• The federal government requires all linguists on this contract to obtain and maintain a security clearance. This security clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
• Prior to beginning work, candidates must complete the process for a fully adjudicated TS/SCI (with poly) security clearance. SOSi will sponsor qualified candidates for clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Language, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of recent experience in the foreign language instruction for adults/university students, assessing student proficiency, developing instructional curricula, and integrating current technology and cultural understanding.

Job Summary

The Department of History, Anthropology, & Philosophy at the University of North Georgia invites applications for a part-time position in the field of Korea/Korean Studies, with specialization in Korean history (before 1800), Korean art history (premodern or modern), Korean culture, philosophy, and religion in Korea. Candidates in other disciplines with a specialization in Korea may be considered. We welcome applications from scholars whose research and teaching embrace interdisciplinary and / or interregional approaches. In-person teaching on the Dahlonega campus is preferred; however, online teaching will be considered.

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.

APPOINTMENT AND SALARY All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month

The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
