The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.<br /><br /><strong>PERFORMANCE EVALUATION </strong>Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.<br /><br /><strong>APPOINTMENT AND SALARY </strong>All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.<br /><br />Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month<br /><br />Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month<br /><br />The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. We are seeking a skilled language instructor with a commitment to a proficiency-based approach to language teaching. The pay is $8,500 per course section. The instructor we’re seeking will teach three sections of Elementary Korean in fall, with a possible opportunity for additional sections in spring. <p>현재 오프라인 석사과정을 준비 중이고, 고려대, 한국외대, 세종대 교육대학원에 원서를 넣은 상태입니다.</p>
<p>궁금한 점이 전공명 관련 부분인데요, 고려대와 세종대는 ‘한국어 교육’, 한국외대는 ‘외국어로서의 한국어교육학과’로 전공명이 다르게 되어 있더라고요.</p>
<p>각 학교 전공 소개 </p>

<p>전공 소개를 보면 전공명과 관계없이 결국 외국인 대상 한국어 교육 전문가 양성이 목표인 것 같긴 한데, 그래도 이름이 다르니까 괜히 신경이 쓰이네요.</p>
<p>그래서 몇 가지 여쭤보고 싶습니다.</p>

<li>전공명이 다른 이유가 실제로 배우는 내용 차이 때문인지, 아니면 단순한 명칭 차이인지 궁금합니다.</li>
<li>이런 전공명 차이가 국내나 해외 취업할 때 영향을 주는지도 궁금합니다.</li>
<li>그리고 마지막으로 학위명 관련해서도 고민이 있습니다.</li>

<p>현재 세종대는 합격한 상태이고, 고려대와 한국외대는 면접을 앞두고 있습니다.</p>
<p>만약 세 곳 모두 합격한다고 가정했을 때, 선생님이라면 어디를 선택하실지도 조언해주시면 정말 감사하겠습니다.</p>

<p>Leidos is seeking a skilled <b>Korean Instructor </b>to support a high-priority customer mission. These are full-time in-person positions requiring both teaching and language assessment responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be passionate about language instruction, experienced in adult education, and capable of adapting materials to meet customized learning needs. <b>A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this role. However, we are able to sponsor the clearance process for candidates who successfully pass the required language assessments.</b></p>

The department has majors and minors in Japanese and Chinese and a minor in Korean. We also offer graduate programs across all three regions.<br /><br />Position Summary<br /><br />The Pro Tem Instructor of Korean will teach Korean language courses at a variety of levels, and will take on other responsibilities associated with these courses such as developing teaching materials, supervising Graduate Employees and meeting and communicating with students. The Pro Tem Instructor of Korean may also be asked to serve on department committees.<br /><br /><strong>Minimum Requirements </strong></p>

<li>Master's degree in Korean language pedagogy, linguistics or a related field.</li>

<li>Knowledge of foreign language teaching methodologies.</li>
<li>Knowledge of teaching materials development.</li>

<li>Sufficient language skills in the target language and English to teach at any level within the curriculum.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></p>

<li>Experience teaching in a classroom setting, creating and delivering training programs, language tutoring, or other related experience in instruction.</li>
<li>Experience in implementing classroom technology.</li>
