Title	Language Instructor/Teaching Assistant in Korean

Position Description	The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University invites applications for a full-time Language Instructor/Teaching Assistant in Korean expected to begin August 1, 2023 and to extend through June 30, 2024. Language instructors will work with course heads in Korean language classes, assist in preparation of teaching materials, and teach individual small group sections. The position will be a term appointment for one year, with the possibility of renewal dependent on performance and curricular need, for up to a total of six years.
Basic Qualifications	Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Korean; a master’s degree or higher; and experience teaching Korean at the college level.
Additional Qualifications	Experience teaching multiple levels of Korean is preferred.

A cover letter, including a description of teaching experience and philosophy and comments on any efforts to encourage diversity, inclusion, and belonging. 2. A Curriculum Vitae 3. Names and contact information of two referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. Two letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least two letters have been received. Candidates should also send a 20-minute video of the applicant teaching by URL through the ARIeS portal, or share the video file with eal@fas.harvard.edu.  All the above should be submitted by April 10th. Please note that references will only be invited to upload letters of recommendation after a complete application has been submitted online. Recommendation letters are due by April 12th. Selected candidates will be contacted directly by late April for an interview to be conducted virtually
