Description

The Department of Russian and East Asian Languages and Cultures (REALC) at Emory University in Atlanta, GA invites applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow in Korean Studies.

This is a position funded by a grant to Emory from Korea Foundation, and is renewable to successful candidate for up to 3 years. REALC is a dynamic multidisciplinary community of scholars of Korea, China, Japan, and Russia, and we welcome scholars from diverse fields. Research field and period are open for this position, but priority will be given to interdisciplinary specialists working at the intersections of the humanities and social sciences, or on Korea through a comparative or transnational lens.

The successful candidate will be expected to continue their scholarly research, and they will teach (or team-teach) 2 undergraduate courses per year of appointment and participate in the academic life of the department and university. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position will also carry a research fund.

Successful candidates should have their Ph.D. by start of appointment. They should have some

relevant teaching experience and demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion. Only candidates who are authorized or who can obtain the necessary visa to work in the USA by the start of appointment should apply.
