The Opportunity
Postdoctoral fellows will be required to reside in Canberra beginning in June or July of 2023, to participate actively in the intellectual life of the university and of the Korean studies community, and to teach one course per year at the ANU. For Korean and Asian-Pacific studies, the Australian National University offers one of the strongest programs in Australasia, with the deepest tradition of scholarly excellence and access to the most research resources, including those housed in the National Library of Australia.
Our Ideal Candidate
The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to:
- Actively engage in research while participating in various forums and seminars on campus.
- Teach one course per year in the Korean studies program.
- Carry out some administrative responsibilities in planning events on campus, such as the Korea Institute seminar series, the annual Korea Update, and other programs.
The successful applicant must have completed the PhD by February 18, 2023, and it must have been attained after January 1, 2020. Native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English is required. The ANU provides attractive benefits and an excellent remuneration package. The successful candidate will be provided with mentoring and support to develop their research to international standards.
