Position Summary |
Indiana University Bloomington’s Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies seeks a full-time tenure-track assistant professor of modern and contemporary Korean Literature and Cultural Studies, broadly defined, to begin August 1, 2023. The position is 100% in HLS’s renowned multidisciplinary Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALC).
Candidates must have a doctoral degree or clear indication that the degree will be in hand by July 31, 2023. Teaching load is two courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities encompass both undergraduate and graduate courses, and will include “Korean Popular Culture” and “Modern Korean Literature,” among others.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree or clear indication that the degree will be in hand by July 31, 2023.
The successful candidate should have an active research record with clear potential for scholarly excellence, be able to work across arts and humanities disciplines, and have expertise in one or more of the following areas: modern Korean literature, film, popular culture, and media studies. We especially encourage those scholars whose work cuts across genres and media to apply. |
