We are seeking to appoint to the post of Teaching Associate in Korean on a permanent, part-time basis based within the Language Centre in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Korean language at beginners level and post GCSE, acting as module convenor and contributing to the development of language modules in general and Korean language modules in particular (support will be provided if this is a candidate’s first convening role).The role holder will also produce assessment materials as well as marking and second-marking oral, written and listening examinations for all teaching groups.

Candidates should also have the ability to deliver interactive language teaching to multicultural groups and have a proven track record in University teaching and experience in convening modules.

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are part time (18.12 hours).

Job Summary/Basic FunctionLead TeacherImplement the educational curriculum.Coordinate and administer program: schedule classes and activities, handle correspondence and administer evaluations.Conduct regular staff meetings for purposes of communication, logistical planning and educational improvement of the program.TeacherUnder the direction of the Lead Teacher, plan, teach and assess language classes and activities on line.Maintain communication with the Lead Teacher on the progress of all villagers in the class.Maintain accurate grade records, complete mid-session progress reports and final evaluations.
