Position Description |
The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University invites applications for a full-time, multi-year Preceptor in Korean beginning July 1, 2024. This is a term appointment of three years, renewable for a term of up to five years (eight years in total), contingent on performance, enrollments, curricular need, position availability, and divisional dean authorization.

Basic Qualifications |
The successful applicant should be well versed on the issues of teaching Korean as a foreign language, have experience in teaching all levels of Korean, and must have exemplary ability in comprehension and active use of modern standard Korean, written and spoken, at native or near-native proficiency.

Additional Qualifications |
Several years of experience teaching modern Korean at the college level in the United States and specialization in Korean pedagogy and second language acquisition is highly desirable. An M.A. or Ph.D. degree (or ABD) in Korean Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Education, or a closely related field is preferred.
